Okay-so, all this to say- great, I liked someone, still do, I’m not seeing them anymore, obviously it’s hard, obviously I miss him, obviously this sucks! So why did I put myself through this in the first place?

… but he was really perfect on paper. He checked all the boxes. Evan was one of the profiles that I got the “Most compatible: Nayomi & Evan you two should meet” messages from the app. The algorithm must be onto something.

He got me a hot dog and watched me inhale it. (I LOVE hotdogs btw. Not a weird analogy or anything, I truly am just a hotdog queen). He took a deep breath and made a “no comment” face lol.

First of all- SAY LESS FAM, I’m brown, I eat with my hands anyway. Couldn’t agree more. The food tastes so much better. It IS the better way to eat.

Secondly…. the second half of that felt weirdly sensual and I’m into it.

It was one of those half jokes. Like one of those things you throw out there just to see if it sticks.

Is this what keeps people up at night? Do I just have main character energy?? Is he having an existential crisis?

I got a little rush out of knowing he wanted to see me, but I also kept my distance.

1) I had a boyfriend

2) I wanted to keep my professional life and personal life separate.

Of course I didn’t think much of it- the guys sick… give him some time to recover…

I’m saying my hellos, and joke that I’m the first date girl. One of the girls who just got there laughs and says “Really?” Yes really! She looked so confused. “I can’t tell if this is a joke.”

The hint totally flew over his head because he responded “Yes. I agree. Not a smart play for us to just list what’s wrong with us before we meet lol. I’m kinda excited to see you :)”

Me: Hey…that was your cue to ask me out
